Sustainability efforts

We actively take efforts to achieve SDGs* and contribute to the creation of a sustainable community.

* SDGs (sustainable development goals) are a continuation of millennium development goals (MDGs) established in 2001. They are international targets for 2016 to 2030 described in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted at the UN summit in September 2015.

  • In order to promote health for all employees, we support activities to promote health, such as regular health checkups.

  • We provide training on harassment and establish a support system for female engineers to promote a workplace that is easy to work in.
  • Once a month we hold departmental meetings so that men, women, veterans, new hires, and others can share opinions in an effort to improve the company climate.

  • We obtained ISO 14001 certification, and we engage in business activities that consider the environment.
  • We separate our trash, recycle, reduce unnecessary energy usage, and reduce the need for physical copies through digitalization.
  • We are responsible for construction for solar power, biomass power, and wind power, which help achieve a low-carbon society.
  • We introduce advanced technology to streamline work and reduce energy use.
  • We are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by switching to electric construction equipment.

  • We support employee growth by improving training for new employees, OJT training, and level-specific training.
  • Our human resource evaluation system can be used to visualize an employee's career plan after joining the company, allowing them to set personal goals. It provides them with a meaningful work environment.
  • We re-hire employees with abilities and skills after they retire to pass on their skills and knowledge to the next generation of engineers so that the business can continue to grow.

  • We are involved creating the infrastructure needed for daily life, and we will continue to contribute to society.

  • We have BCP certification. We created a crises management manual, and we are ready for emergencies.
  • If a disaster such as a flood or earthquake occurs, we will prevent the spread of damage and support a quick recovery.

  • We separate waste generated by construction into recyclable materials and have them collected by recycling companies to improve our rate of recycling.
  • We have our own recycling facilities to recycle our waste materials.

13. Concrete measures against climate change

We take the following measures to achieve carbon neutrality.

  • We use electric construction machinery to improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Construction machinery execute idling stops to reduce gas emissions.
  • We reduce excess electricity use in office work in line with ISO 14001.

  • As marine construction specialists, we develop and use technology that does not burden the marine environment.
  • We use biodegradable lubricants in our construction machinery that gets broken down by microorganisms in the environment even if a leak occurs, reducing the impact of pollution on the ecosystem.

  • We provide compliance training and strive to foster ethical views among employees and improve their awareness of legal compliance.
